Two frameworks dominate cross-platform mobile development in 2025: React Native and Flutter. Both are mature, production-ready and capable of building excellent apps. But they are built on different foundations and excel in different situations.

React Native โ€” The JavaScript-First Choice

Built by Meta, React Native lets you write mobile apps in JavaScript and TypeScript โ€” the same language most web developers already know. It has a massive ecosystem, excellent Expo tooling for rapid development, and shares logic naturally with React web apps.

Flutter โ€” The Performance-First Choice

Built by Google and using the Dart language, Flutter has its own rendering engine which gives it very consistent performance and pixel-perfect UI across Android and iOS. The learning curve is steeper due to Dart, but the result is a very clean, high-performance codebase.

Our Recommendation

If you already have a React website and need a matching mobile app, React Native is the clear choice โ€” your team shares knowledge across both platforms and you can reuse significant amounts of business logic. If you are starting completely fresh and your priority is maximum performance with a custom UI, Flutter is worth serious consideration.

At Techb Software Solutions, we build mobile apps in React Native for the majority of our clients, particularly those who already have or plan to build a web platform alongside the app.
